Systems Integration Framework for Hybrid-Electric Commuter and Regional Aircraft

System integration is one of the key challenges to bringing future hybrid-electric and all-electric aircraft into market. In addition, retrofitting redesigning existing are potential paths toward achieving hybrid flight, which even more challenging goals from a system perspective. Therefore, tools that bridge gap between subsystem level need be developed for use in conceptual design stage address current challenges, such as space, share propulsive secondary power, required electrification, safety, thermal management. This paper presents multidisciplinary analysis (MDA) framework integrates sizing tools. this includes improved physics-based methods also applicable smaller, commuter, or regional aircraft. The capabilities presented case study covering redesign DO-228 with propulsion combination electrification its systems architecture different technologies.
